Planning has always played an important role in making our community a safer place to live. Our updated local zoning ordinance with its floodplain section, our subdivision and land development plan, and our recently updated comprehensive plan (2023) are all familiar community efforts aimed at that common goal.
Hazard mitigation planning is an extension of that effort and is now more important than ever for LMBT since the recent sweeping flash flooding gravely devasted our road and bridges and critically damaged many homes.
Currently we are working with Northampton County to update the Township’s federally-approved hazard mitigation plan (HMP) which makes our community eligible for federal funds for mitigation projects.
