The state does enable local governments the use of a variety of tools that can aid in the challenge of managing growth in order to protect the very reasons we chose to live here. We have been working to lessen negative impacts by addressing planning and zoning. So what tools have we used?
- Revision and updating of our Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO)
- Passage of new Zoning Ordinance which is designed to keep warehouses confined to our Industrial District and off farmland
- New Comprehensive Plan that outlines overall goals and objectives for our township
- Created our first Official Map, an effective negotiation tool for municipalities, helping to ensure that development is compatible with and supportive of public goals
- Continuing farmland preservation in partnership with County
