Why I’m Running

Since 2001 I have devoted time and energy to preserving what we all love about LMBT and I want to continue the planning efforts, the farmland preservation, the fiscal responsibility, and the environmental stewardship that make our community such a special place.  Working together for shared solutions to both local and regional issues – traffic, safety, air and water quality – will help move us forward and will insure a safe and healthy future for all.

Experience

Elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2017, I currently serve as Vice-Chair. This has been and continues to be a challenging yet rewarding job. I have been fortunate to be part of a great team of dedicated residents, township staff, legal professionals and consultants – all of whom strive to do the best they can for LMBT.

A Planning Commission member since 2008, I’m happy to report that our 40+ year old Zoning Ordinance has been totally revised, and we have recently updated our Comprehensive Plan. In addition, we adopted the Township’s first Official Map – an effective planning tool for future development.

In conjunction with the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, the 10 municipalities in the Slate Belt are working on “Plan Slate Belt’ – a regional Comprehensive Plan. As a member of the Plan Slate Belt steering committee representing LMBT, I continue working on this partnership with our neighboring municipalities. By advocating for and partnering with each other, we can present a more effective voice on both county and state levels. This will benefit us as we continue to confront increased traffic and development pressure.

My community involvement and past service includes membership on the Environmental Advisory Council, and Chair of the township’s Open Space Committee which developed the Open Space Plan for farmland preservation.

Collaborated with the Pennsylvania Scenic Byway Program to attain byway status for 3 roads in LMBT, and served as Co-Ordinator for development of the Corridor Management Plan for our byway – the Delaware River Valley Scenic Byway.
